I had one of the Harrison 1 and a half test curve blanks. Is brillient for light work, but does not have enough backbone for a 15 pound mad mirror near weed or snags.
The best rod i own for this is a Daiwa Amorphous stalking rod. Its 11 foot 6 inches and a pound and a half tc, but it locks solid in the butt and would stop a train!
The hooligans dont have enough rings for my liking. Why a light carp rod has long range ringing in beyond me.
Have a look at some of these Barbel rods that are about, maybe Fox. They seem to have a decent amount of rings and poerful butts to stop big fish in currents.
