In my opinion (and not meant as a personal attack because all these people make their real living in more general journalism):

3) Henry Gilbey
2) Kev Green
1) The Scottish Bloke who does Hooked on Fishing

Any comments anyone?

I can believe that, Alan, and I don't want to have a go too much because, like Kev Green, he is very much the "bloke next door" and very likeable. But neither have the charisma of a Wilson or Hayes. Surely there must be some budding Rex Hunts out there? And that is NOT rhyming slang.

Dear God I sincerely hope not!

I find RH's style highly aggravating - especially when he sings:

"Oh Rexie's got a fish"

So, numbers 1,2 and 3 on my list would be:

Rex Hunt!

Sorry :-0

Me also, Gary and Jason. That's three of us.

Shall we start a fan club?

And that Scottish bloke is Paul Young, an actor as well.

Nearly as bad as reading some of Gary Knowles articles!! (only joking)
Haven't read much from you in any of the mags lately Gary.
BTW still love the bit you did on your first 6lb Chub, magic!

Thought Paul Young was quite entertaining in his 'Hooked on Scotland' programmes. I would consider Jack Charlton's past attempts at presenting fishing programmes to be the most boring of all.

Jack Charlton on anything...

Rex Hunt - big turn off.

Henry Gilbey - I've seen him and thought he was very enthusiastic and left the viewer with no doubt just how much fun catching fish was.

Paul Young - I'm sure he's ok away from the camera but sends me to sleep. Plus he's Scotch too, so that counts against him!

Favourites - John Wilson and ahead of the more modern lot Jack Hargreaves

Would agree on the Jack Charlton issue! Bo-o-o-o-o-o-o-ring.

Paul Young isn't Scotch, he's Scottish. Glenfiddich and Belvenie is Scotch.

Another realy boring fart used to be on D-H&L, but I forget his name now, Andy something-or-other (Nicholson perhaps?). They could only afford one radio mike and he had that so what you heard was a question being asked of his ghillie followed by = silence! Other than when he has a coughing bout or let loose a stupid hacking laugh. Even Boycie's laugh sounds better than that.

I was watching the Carp show on Sky the other day with Rob Hughes - how boring is he!?! Here's a carp, oh here's another one, and oh look another carp. He's got the personality of the fish and the whole programme bored the crap out of me. I know it's not easy and I couldn't do it any better, but he's awful.
