I have found this smoker to be very good value and works very good, I would have liked a recipe book for the smoker. I think it should have a deeper drip tray when you use the two grills with trout, I have only used it for filleted trout and the smoker puts a very nice flavour after approximatly 15minutes cooking time. Without an instruction book I put 2-large table spoons of smoke dust under the drip tray and found this worked ok. I also rubbed the fillets with salt and on some also put a little caster sugar and course pepper. This was better than any smoked trout I have tasted.
The metholated spirit burners work very well but now I use an electric heater and place the smoker on this, not in the kitchen but in an outhouse because of the smell, it is worth all the trouble to have trout better than you have ever tasted.
