On the Hook Trout Paste is it any good or is it just another money making gimik?

Hi i just bought a tub of on the hook trout paste i was just wondering is it any good or is it just another money making gimik if not how can i fish it many thanks

wrap it round a big trout pellet, it'll disolve and leave a mix on the deck around the hookbait.

Alternatively, but a paste spring to mould it round, or better still mould it round your hookbait and your lead.
