Which Three Angling Personalities

If you could invite any three anglers from any era round for dinner to discuss fishing over a good meal and a drop of vino, who would you choose?

Mine would be Peter Stone, Ivan Marks and Martin Bowler.

The traditional specimen angler and wonderful character, the most charismatic and talented matchman and the most talented modern angler (in my opinion).

I reckon That's easy for me.

**** Walker, Tag Barnes and Ray Webb.

Mind you Webby might be a problem if I dished up one of my favourite meals - Duck a l'Orange with Alto Cabernet Sauvignon '64.

"Heyup lad, heyup, weer's me mollasses, slops, gruel and grits?"

Dame Juliana Berners (I'd like to know if she really did write the "Treatyse of Fysshinge With an Angle".

Saint Peter (to get first-hand information on the J.C. story).

John Gierach (American fishing writer - tells wonderful anecdotes in print, I'd like to see if he is as entertaining in real life).

"Saint Peter (to get first-hand information on the J.C. story)."

Do you mean "How did JC know there would be more fish on the other side of the boat. Was it pure instinct, watercraft, or did he invent the world's first echo sounder?"

I think he means the walk on water bit.

Shanks pony was the original bait boat, used to reach phenomenal ditances on the Sea of Gallilea 2000 years ago.
