I remember someone saying that once you reach a certain age, all you can look forward to is nostalgia.

A nice piece Davy.

How about doing somthing along similar lines for the Angling Star?

i had the same thing recently when a picture of myself taken 25 yrs ago ( i was 8 ) resurfaced at my mum and dads house. it shows me on the banks of the river Lea , at dobbs weir , holding a 3 oz roach at arms length , with a huge beaming smile . my first ever proper fish , apart from teems of gudgeon. The weird thing is that i remember it now like it was yeaterday , yet the day , 20 years later , when i caught an 8lb tench is just a distant haze..... i think its time i went back.........

I remember the day when I caught my first tench, a fish of 1 3/4 lbs when I was twelve years old. That fish stays in my mind as clear as day
