We of course already have specialist forums relating to Preditory species and carp! I think a specimen is difficult to define these days

I think the Coarse and the game fishing section ar adequate. They define the differences between match angling, carp angling and predator angling quite well.

Personally I ceased becoming an out and out specimen hunter many years ago. I find I can get pleasure out of catching what many will consider to be small fish these days.

However I do like to fish most for what I call "wild natural indigenous fish". There is one exception of course and that is rainbow trout.

I don't see any point in having just a special 'specimen' forum as any specimen threads can be covered in the existing forums ......

I think 'BEGINNERS AND IMPROVERS' should be changed to -

DEAR AUNTIE GRAHAM
Help given and questions answered.

Keep them off the other forums where we're having a good laugh - or pulling someone apart.

Good thought Ross, even if it was shot down. Take no notice of those Philistines above, especially that Cheeky Monkey, he's still trying to drag a blonde into his bivvy and relive the dream.

Merv, I'm like Ed, but I can't even remember if I've had a dream.

Andy, I've emailed you on your Hotmail address, don't know if you got it.

Dont worry Ross, they laughed at Christopher Columbus when he mentioned that America existed on the other side of the pond?

If I`d have had my way I would have had his head off!

Yeah I know Nigel, but Ron gets enough coverage on this site as it is!

Being a bit picky with the 'blonde' bit, Graham. Us of a certain age can't afford to be that choosey.
