Been there once - years ago.
The lakes are fantastic! Best fishing is from boats.. easily available. But don't just go the lakes by Tampere itself - try some of the quieter ones (even more) off the beaten track.
You don't need a (Swedish speaking) interpreter do you? A lot of Finns don't muster much English but they almost all speak Swedish!
