I had a bulk spool of SF Topline (the one on the right in the pic) and despite buying it a few years back, I started using it this season I’d run out of what I was using and it seemed pretty good breaking strain for a low diameter line.

I’ve got the .18mm spool, which is rated at 6.6lb bs. I decided to get some more, but in the .20mm diameter, as it gets a bit of hammer on the clutch and this is rated 7.9lb. Plenty strong enough for any size barbel on the float.

Yet, when it arrived all the breaking strain values were much lower? The .18mm was now just 4lb from 6.6lb and the .20mm 6lb from 7.9lb

The .25mm diameter has gone from 12.3lb bs to just 7lb, nearly half. That’s a big difference.

What’s going on? Is it different line or did they over egg the original BS?

The manufacturers are supposed to be a company called Hahl, but I can’t find any working web address for them.
