i`m after some goose quills<strpped of feather>so i can make some floats for my self and family and friends...does anyone know where i can get hold of some???
i have porcupine quills a plenty,i`m drawing a blank at the moment with the goose ones....

Try the local lake, rother vally park, close to were I live has a high population of geese and swans and there are always a lot of large feathers just waiting to be collected.

Have a 'gander' in your local Yellow Pages under Poultry, could be someone local, failing that, if you have a local 'independant butcher, have a word with him about anyone rearing/fattening geese.

good idea merv.....will give it a try this weekend....there are geese on me local boating lake but i cant say ive noticed any feather laying about...don,i tries that adress but had no joy with it i`m afraid....thanks all for your help

I think it's around July or August they moult. Should be loads around then.
