Hello

I am currently reading Into the Blue by Chris Yates. In it he describes his new found love of sea fishing, especially fishing for bass with lures from the shore.

I would really like to give this style of fishing a try but have no idea if the coast near where I live is suitable. I live in County Durham and the nearest coast line to me is Seaton Carew/ Hartlepool, then further north there is Seaham, Tynemouth etc. Is anyone familiar with these areas? Do we even get Bass in the North of England?

Yes you do get bass up there, and lots of em. Probably not in the same quantities as down south but still enough to go round.

It's getting a bit late to start a bass campaign now, even in the South they get fewer and further between by September.

Take a look at the archives of this excellent site. There's bound to be plenty about Northern bass.

Thanks Rufus, I will have a look.

Really enjoy the blog by the way, it's one of the few I have in my Favourites folder and check out regularly.
