i was in our local lidl supermarket earlier and noticed they were selling jars of lump fish caviar.
do you reckon it could be any good as a groundbait adative perhaps or used in a paste or boilie mix???
one other question.....whats a lump fish???

Nik, have you checked the price of that stuff. They use it in place of caviar. It is a very oily fishy smelly stuff.

The fish is not a sturgeon but and ugly looking bugger called Cyclopterus lumpus. I would save your money and use high oil ground up trout pellet powder.

That is unless you want a nice snack whilst fishing. The have a couple of dollops on a cracker. (The lump fish roe that is) wash down with a chilled sparkling wine.

ergo....it was only ?1.79 for a small jar...cheaper than a lot of flavours etc you can buy from tackle shops....
caviar and white wine while fishing.....sounds intresting....i`ll inform jeeves to pack a hamper for my next
trip.....lol

it's fish eggs so therefore would be illegal for use as bait in british fresh waters.
