Interesting. They could have lifted this newspaper story from any year since the 1960s, which is when I first saw it. Maybe I'll believe it on the day I see fly anglers lining the banks of the Thames. It's all regurgitated spun press releases isn't it? Or are things really different this year? As for the "Thames, a river once declared biologically dead" I remember that in the 50s. Rafts of detergent pollution at Waterloo bridge. But 100lb bags of roach taken at the same time on hemp at Richmond - they always forget to mention that. It was one a chuck at Richmond in the "biologically dead" days, all the year around.
