The Highlands

Hi there,

Can anyone direct me to a place worth lure fishing for pike around the Dounreay area of the Highlands as I may have a free day there next week.

Hi Carl. I can't think of any pike waters that far north....u are really into Brown Trout country up there and as such, any pike swimming has a constant death threat hanging over it. I will have a hunt about, but I cant think of a single Loch that far north....

However...the sea fishing is fantastic. Take a lure rod and fish off the rocks. Expect to catch Coalfish, Pollock and maybe the odd Bass....all on lures. Try small blue and silver rapalas, Abu Krills and Abu Tobys for starters. I think you will be amazed at what you can catch off the rocks with a pocket of lures...
