I've just seen a notice that in 2008 the Enviroment Agency is to outlaw the use of hooks above a maximum 8mm gap.
Is this rule aimed towards an angling ban?
Here my permit says semi-barbless or crushed barbed hooks only,15lb mainline for pike and carp, 30lb minimum wire trace for pike.
No float for Salmon/Trout and no bait before June 16.
No worm or maggots.
No shrimp in September. so many restrictions it's hardly worth the
license fee especially now I can't get a concession on low income.
Mind you the swim/beats in question are often filled many with old cycles shopping trollies and drunk campers mess.
Our Canal & River Fisheries Manager need to pull his socks up a bit.
Does anyone know if Fish Spotting Sonar can show up metal and dumped objects this may help his staff who seem not to
notice the mess I see floating through our town trees blocking swims and dead branches dying off going downstream amongst general litter We suffer from too many rowers and not enough divers ready to prepare the swims.
Quite deeply raked sholuld some of our waters be. Just as I am looking for 18 hours a week working therapy.

On the trebles page at the spintek website.
Second time round its just reading size 2 and 4 are above the 8mm gap.
I can't find the referance again though

Forgot to mention that today the net has been awash with stories about stupid laws and European legislations coming into force over the next few years. This morning our local radio station was reading out a load of them that listeners had found whilst web browsing.
The only way to check if this one is true is to ask the EA themselves.

Ok. Thanks Guys. Maybe Fools day but since
I can;t get spintek.co.uk here anymore Bryan.
What happened to them?
I really wanted to buy some gear there....
Large Barrels, Some nice Blades cheap trebles and mostly the stainless steel tool to bend spinner wire.
I know there aren't many suppliers of these.
Trade only perhaps I'd rival Mepps and ABU
Do you know of any?

Last thoughts perhaps spinner wire isn't nescessary if I thread the rest of the stuff onto the mainline? I've got beads, blades, hangers, cleaves. hooks and wool.
Anyone tried this?
