I have fished club matches before but my club has folded but I still want to try my luck in matches . I need to know where I can get info on any open matches or where to find a new club who have matches. Or even if you know where a match is about to take place kindly let me know . thanks

Bill, where about are you in the West Mids?
I can give you a long list, but it would be easier if I knew exactly where you live.
Just the town would do.

Bill,

first you will need the proper dayglo jim-jams, the lingo, the gear and the catch at all costs attitude.

No seriously the only tip I could give you is stick to one and only one venue and fish it until it bleeds and you know every fish holding spot on it.

you will also need to pick up the tricks of the trade matchmen will use like cupping in water so that it seems they are feeding heavily for their fish, when you follow suit you blow your swim double quick.

never ever take anything they say as the truth, match man speak with forked tongue!

Bill go into your local tackle shop and ask for info about local match fishing clubs.Open match fishing is a completly different ball game.Get more club level experence first and when you become the man to beat at that level then move into open matches.Pick a venue you are comfortable with, put as much time and effort into this venue as you can then you should be able to take on the already venue experts.Good luck with your match fishing.P.S.if you are fishing a match in the northwest give us a shout if you want any info ,this is where i do my matchfishing.

Bill, get in touch with the following fisheries.
Clubs use the fisheries for their matches.
The fisheries have open matches on the days there are no club matches, so the fisheries are your best starting point, as they will have the numbers of both club secretaries and open match organizers,if they don't organize the opens themselves.
