Why would anybody chuck a 2lb Roach in the bushes?
Sorry guys, recently visited a carp water near Swindon (Welford if the offender is watching!)
Found a dead Roach in the bushes, about 2lbs, what a crime!
I was disgusted, I couldn't believe someone had done this!
Obviously it wasn't the fish they were after!
Tollerence, Please, Carp aren't the only fish that need to eat!

Steve, just in case you don't realise it, Frothey is kidding, and probably making the point that it might not have been a carp angler or could have been an accidental death of the roach due to deep hooking or something. Whatever the reason, whoever chucked it up the bushes should have buried it and avoided any hasty or otherwise conclusions being drawn.

It might be a good idea if you find such a dead specimen to take it somewhere to get it dissected.

Or even cut it up yourself and have a look at the throat teeth and stomach contents.

I found a dead barbel by the side of the Trent some years ago and cut it open to prove that they do eat lots of snails.

They do.

But it could be sold on, a 2lber would have a market I would think (?)

Kidding or not, people walk around the lake.
It doesn't give anglers a good name, when people see dead fish on the bank.
We should be protecting our image as anglers.
I don't think the public would believe the roach commited suicide, by leeping out of the water!
Whatever the circumstances, it should have been disposed of more thoughtfully.

they do have a lot of problems with otter and mink up there (swindon area), could have been one of them dragging the fish up the bank.

how does a fish commit suicide then? LOL
