Could be a reference to, NHS.

If you go private, the tories will give you the money it would have cost the NHS, (from NHS funds), to treat you, and you would have to make up the difference. Very nice if you can afford it.

Whats so wrong about that idea? At the very least it would take some of the pressure off the waiting lists, at the very best it would give you a choice.

Most of the private specialists are the very same specialists that treat you on the NHS anyway, just got a different hat on.

Choice, that surely has to be better than waiting an eternity for treatment.

The money that would have treated a NH patient then goes to someone who can afford the other half for private treatment - a discount for people who are already pretty well off, which denies the poor the money and will almost certainly lengthen the waiting lists.
Nobody's against the NHS buying private medical care when it's either highly specialised or good value but Howard's true colours were revealed by this nonsense. Why is it that all the Tory campaigns play on people's fears?

I watched the interview between Paxman and Howard, it became apparent that Howard was very uncomfortable with the questions being asked of him.

His answers were vague, wishy-washy and totally un-convincing, with a large amount of arrogance thrown in as well.

Until that interview I wasn't sure, now I am! Thanks to Jeremy Paxman.

I agree entirely Steve, (but then I would would'nt I), for someone in his position to be totally unsure of figures was a poor performance, also his continual diatribes re Labour policies, when he should have been promoting Tory policies did'nt sit well.

I missed it,(shift work)but I'm sure Paxman ripped into him as well!

Blair probably finished on top, out of the three.

It's good to hear peoples views from around the country, Without FM, this would not not have been possilble for me.

Thanks, keep em coming

Chef, Blair had a confidence, answered questions immediately, and did'nt try to dodge any issues, so I'll agree with you, to do that you've got to be a slippery bu##er.

Merv, if he answered all the questions immediately why was it he had to be asked 18 times how many illegal immigrants are in this country?

Oh! and he still hasn't answered the question.

Was it because he didn't know, or is he afraid to put a figure on record?

Graham, that is a stupid thing to say. If they are 'illegal' imigrants, then how can anyone know the answer?

Steve,

Stop talking politics and get out fishing (you might improve your rating!).

Out of all of the parties which one has said anything positive about our sport???

They're all a bunch of liars and whichever one wins everything they're promising now will be forgotten by them the day after the election. I'm sick of all of them.
As I said in another thread I'll vote for the party that promises to take us out of Europe and at the moment the only one promising that is UKIP but can they be trusted?

How right you are Frank, they are all liars.

Make them state what they are going to do, when it will be done by and how much it will cost. If they fail kick them out and start again. But the party thrown out shoud not be able to take part in the re-election process until the next round.

I bet the promises of a super country with a rosey future would be reduced to more realistic status in no time.
