Does anyone know about using Sugar Beet Pellets as loose-feed and groundbait? I'm not too worried how well it works as I can always just try that out myself, just wondering if it is safe to use as a fishing bait. I don't want to go out using it if it has dodgy ingrediants that are not good for the fish.

Darren, I assume when you refer to "Sugar beet pellets" you mean the pellets that are produced as a bi-product for animal feed from beet processing.
Yes I have tried these a few years ago while I was contracted on an engineering job at a beet processing plant & "borrowed" some, the results were not conclusive. As regards the contents, it will not harm the fish as it is just the "mush" left over from the beet process after the the sugar is boiled out, which is then squeezed into pellets & dried.

Feeding sheep it used to come in a dried pulp full of mollasess but now they turn it into pellets makes more money that way.

Try soaking the pellets and add them to your ground bait if fishing for bream
