New Hangers

I'm in the market for some new hangers - since I broke my old Fox ones(which are apparently obsolete - no spares!) Has anyone got any suggestions? Does anyone know if the Nash & Solar versions use the same thread size so you can mix an match chains,hanger bodies etc? Thanks Steve

I'm surprised you've been told the Fox ones are obsolete - as far as I know, they are still available.

As to compatibility, theones you mention all use different threads, so, without a bit of re-engineering, they don't mix & match. From memory, Fox use a 2BA thread (but I might be wrong), while Solar use a 3mm.

the middles out opf the current fopx ones should still fit the old adjusta hangers, they did when i broke mine anyway.

Limestone - I have the early adjusta hangers with the black adjustable weights, the black plastic clip through the centre and the plug style chain. I have not seen any in the current range as they appear to have switch to the clip type like nash & solar. Any idea if the Nash & Solar bits have the same thread?

the specialist hanger clip would fit the original, (silver weight) adjusta hangers a couple of years ago. mine are going on 20 years old.

Jason, Thanks - have you had any issues with the chains snapping? As I have broken 2 chains recently, could be age.

I use Fox Butt Hangers but have just bought some Mk1 Nash Butt Crackers (new) off Ebay, 3 for ?17.50 seems a good price to me.

Jason, I've just replaced the chains with leadcore following your comment about dacron. I've also contacted fox and got a new floro head for now. My local tackle deal seems to have sold out of MCF Rattlers and he was positive about them. If something is crap he tells me and points me to another product (even if it's cheaper!).

Alnath & Bill thanks for the comments I'll have a look at those for the future.
