42" net, how to get into the v block ??

as far as I know bending the arm is the only way to do it. The arms are carbon , I have never snapped mine.I put one arm in and push it on the ground to bend it then slip in the other arm, same for taking it off again.

For security you actually want the arms hard to get in/pull out. Know what you mean though, they can be a pain.

After years of wrestling with various nets that worked on this system, I bought a JRC X-Lite net, which has a spreader block system similar to the old Efgeeco Apex nets. The arms are permanently attached to the block, and the spacer bar that keeps them spread apart is hinged and sprung-loaded. It's so much easier to put up and take down, and as the whole head is detatchable from the pole it's much easier to lift a big fish out onto the mat. They're not expensive either; at least, not compared to some of the fixed spreader block designs available (Greys Prodigy, ESP, Free Spirit etc)
