Travel Carp Rods

I'm going to Italy this summer and want to do some carp fishing. However I do not want to take conventional rods as they are just a pain and I want comething that can be tucked away out of sight in the car boot.

Having done some research it seems to be a choice between Shimano Exage STC and Fox Trekker or Tourist. Has anyone fished with these rods and are they any good?

I have a set of three of the 2.75lb Exages and they are brilliant they will cast tremendous distances and are good fish playing rods as well
