I know that carp specialist complain when they catch bream and tench on there big boilies.

But I managed to catch (lip hooked) a Gudgeon, all of about 2oz of it, on two species of hair rigged corn and a 14 hook !!

Can you better this?

No problem Mate, Last year on the Severn below Bewdley I had a gudgeon on a size 8 with a 14mmm halibut pellet wrapped with paste, I swear to god, John Jones was with me and I gave him a call to witness it. Bloomin bait was nearly as big as he was and what was worse it was the only fish I had all day. Such is my prowess as a big fish angler.

I've had a gudgeon on a size 8 with a big lob worm on it. The worm was twice the length as the gudgeon, and wider too!!

I had a wrasse at Shell Island last year about 2/3oz on, wait for it, a pennel rig with a 2/0 hook baited with a whole sand eel (second size 1 hook attached to the head) all tipped off with double lug worm!

Outrageous, it took me long enough to bait it, let alone describe it, the bait (hoping for a ray or bass) was probably 7inches long.

We regularly catch tiny whiting in the mersey on lumps of mackerel that would choke a donkey!

Thats fairly impressive Jonny, but Graham that takes the biscuit, or should that be the pellet :)

Eddie your's sounds wicked to, but I don't know anything about sea fishing, I take it a 2/0 hook is very big. Nearest coast to me is 90 miles each way so it all sounds strange to me.

I had a Royalty dace of about 3oz on a no.2 covered in cheese; it had to be retrieved from behind me because I thought it was going to be my first -ever barbel, and was worried about the cheese hardening, and struck accordingly!

For me a 2 1/2lb roach/rudd hybrid taken on 12 lb line and a 4 hook one a huge wadge of breadflake which I cast out for a carp on an Oxfordshire pit.

And a 1lb 12oz roach taken on a 4 hook on a matchbox sized lump of crust on the River Leam. I was after chub at the time.
