FM's parent company Magicalia has a job for someone whose duties would include editorial assistance on FM.

The job entails working from our London office and would suit a young person in their early 20's. Some fishing experience and a good grasp of the English language is essential. Some sailing experience is preferred.

If you want to know more email me in the first instance: editor@fishingmagic.com.

"Some sailing experience is preferred."

Sailing or selling? If definitely sailing, what type? Skipper or passenger, motor vessel or canvas, inland or coastal?

I'm almost 3 times over the age requirement, sadly. Good luck though.

'Sailing' is right Jeff, not selling, but as to what type I think it's the yachting type. Shows what I know about it. But the fishing experience and being able to write is more important. It's me who needs the most help!

Sounds great, except !!

I'm in my 30's.
My English is marginal.
My fishing is poor.
The only sailing I have done, was in a cross channel ferry, or small fishing boat.

I reckon I must be slightly off of being the perfect candidate.

:)

The "slightly off of" part of your sentence puts you well in line for a job in the USA though.

I can never understand why they think 'off of' is needed when a perfectly simple 'off' says exactly the same thing.

Right, I'm off of fishing now anyway.

I said English was marginal. Sorry for my poor performance.

I deal with numbers and logistics, English accuracy is not so important.

might have had a chance if graham hadn't already had to edit some of my articles.

maybe they are having to put your wallet off shore to escape tax, Graham, hence the sailing experience.....

I'd be up for that Graham!

Whereabouts in London is it?

Im at uni at the moment studying IT and looking for a years work placement to start soon.

I do already have an interview and call back at another place in London so i may have to accept that one but if it falls through then i'd love to work for FM!!

After reading your bit in Cf,and above, I think your too pedantic for me Graham, so I won't be applying.
I used to be in the early 20's,but, I'm now down to 18 anyway!

Fred, me, pedantic, whatever gave you that idea?

By the way, you mean, "I think you're too pedantic....".

You missed the apostrophe from 'you're'.

:0) Well spotted that man.
Not a deliberate mistake either.
