Does anyone know anything about the carp fishing at Billing. Which lake to fish? What baits/methods? etc.

I think in the 50's or60's it held the record for a time at 40lb+????

I heard rumours that it still holds some fish up to 35+??

Any info greatly appreciated

I think the record at 40lb is maybe a little wrong. Certainly I have articles stating that fish to 30 pounds were caught, on bread of all things. I dont know what happened, but the fish dissapeared for a whiule. i will have a hunt and see if i can find the stories for u.

One of the early catches was written up in the guest chapter of Carp Fever. Worth a read for a comparison of the times

There was a 40lb Carp+ caught at billing Aquadrome in the late 60s as I was there when it was landed. It was massive
