Went fishing last nite to that small day ticket i mentioned on the other thread that Rik started on this forum and fished for carp. Session wasnt going great until we started packing up.
I had packed away my stuff and my mate was off round the corner of the pond trying to stalk some cap that were feeding in amongst the weed island.
Anyway, his rods were still set up on his pod with two of his rods out, which i was looking after. He came back from the corner and started talking to me, when suddenly one of his reels screamed off, he hadn't heard as he was walking back from where he was talking to me, so i ran to his rods and struck. I thought at first it might have been a big carp and i fought to keep it out of the snags, at which point i handed the rod over (reluctantly!!) back to my mate.
As it got closer, we said.."what the hell is that!!?!?"
"It's a catfish!"
"Bloody hell!!"
"Quick get the net under it"
We got it into the net and put the torch on it! It was a small albino catfish weighing about 12lbs. I
t was completly white with bits of pink and had to be the ugliest fish i've ever seen!!
