Hi, I am thinking of buying a couple of these rods and I wanted to know if anyone thinks they will be okay for my needs.
I fish on a small river mainly for roach/chub but there is also a slight chance of smallish barbel too (around 3-5lb)
The river has a few snags,slow-medium pace, mainly gravel bottom.

Thanks in advance

I've got the Avon Duo which is the previous model to the Duolight. I like it and use it a lot for chub and perch fishing. I've also had barbel to 8lb on it and it handled them OK. One thing I don't like about the rod is that the quivers are too light and it could really do with a 3oz tip. The blank of the quiver tip top section really suits the 2oz tip and the transition between the lighter tips and the blank is a bit severe. I'm going to see if I can get a 3oz quiver from Fox. The above is a fairly minor quibble though as it is an excellent rod

If you don't want an avon top then I'd also recommend a look at the Drennan medium feeder combo rod here I had one and at the 11ft 6in length it's an almost perfect small and medium river chub rod. The only problem is that it doesn't split into 2 sections so you can carry it made up. I sold mine to my mate and bought the Fox.
