Stret Pegging, also called "Tight Corking" is similar to laying on. It is done in rivers of course, especially those with a good push of current.
You need to fish overdepth with trotting tackle. The float, a biggish stick float will work, is fastened top and bottom with rubbers.
The secret is to keep the line direct to the top of the float, dont let the line lay on the water. Then allow your tackle to work down your swim, holding it back for periods in likely spots.
It's a deadly method for big roach.
