Up to you. If you cut the crusts off it will obviously be more white and the particles will sink quicker.

I prefer to cut off the crusts.

Beaker, it depends on the venue and the conditions.
ie. gin clear canal February, coloured river now for instance........
where are you planning to use it?
It is a versatile and useful winter bait, if you elaborate a bit, help will certainly come your way...................

For liquidised bread, cut the crusts off - BUT

Save the crusts, dry them out on a boiler, grind them inthe food processor and use them as a mix with standard groundbait.

Never waste a thing!

Well I cut the crusts off, but after I have prepared the bread, I do the same with the crusts, but liquidise the crust much longer so it goes very fine.

When fishing I add a little water to the crust and leave it for a while, then i add the bread and give the lot a good mix.

If I am after chub I dont bother to cut the crust off, just liquidise the lot together, and add a little water before I start fishing. I have found that the water helps the bread sink much better.

I intend to fish the Thames around the Oxford/Wantage area for chub.
