Pole Float Tips

Hi guys,
I was wondering which type of float tips are best suited for which weather conditions as there are many different types of float tips.

hey sam.basically the brighter the weather conditions the darker the float tip you require.i.e. hot sunny day in open water you'll need a black tipped float.if its a cloudy day in open water a yellow tip will be best.if it's a dull day in the margins or in close proximity to reeds/an island an orange float tip is best.if you are refering to the different thickness of tips available,the thicker the tip the bigger bait you can use. use a fine tip for maggots and casters and a thicker tip for meat and pastes and pellets.
