Carp deaths. DEFRA and the EA

Here we go again, sorry to hijack the theme of the letter but one thing that has always pi55ed me off is the EA stocking left right and centre, thousands and thousands of fish, potentially speading disatrous diseases yet still being hypocritical enough to tell pike anglers they cant move half a dozen roach.

If the quote below (from the letter sent in by Baz) isn't a 'get out of jail free' card for the EA, then I don't know what is.

"Turning to restocking, this is highly regulated when involving rivers and canals, and the EA use the best available technology to screen for disease. However, the health status of stocked fish can never be totally guaranteed."

yeah, I bet it can't...

These Carp deaths have now spread down to the Manchester area along the Bridgewater Canal.
It would be interesting if members from this site would post the areas in which they have seen dead Carp, so as to give us some idea how far it is actually spreading.
Also any deaths along the Trent and Mersey Canal.
