I've been for a walk today with my family along the river Lea at Broxbourne. Whilst looking down into the water above a small sluice gate (By the water wheel) I spotted a far fish of approximately 2lb. My first thought was that it was a Chub but on closer inspection it turned out to be a Brown Trout, I was so amazed I didn't believe my eyes and sought conformation from another angler.
Can anyone tell me are the Trout in the Lea on the increase and is this an indication of the water quality improving. If anyone had told me there was Trout in the Lea before I see it with my own eyes I would of thought they were mad.
