Target boards with lines on them are the usual.
I position the tip of my quiver just off one of the lines, other people may line the quivertip up directly with a line, as it aids bite detection. ie, it shows up bites that you might not normaly see when the tip moves ever so slightly away from the line on the board you have lined it up with.
