Again I am asking about these as a person who knows not alot about them.
Are these effective, and how do you use them.

I love useing them for a change Benny.
I also set them at an angle and not straight up. I had just done this once, when a know it all carping mate told me that was wrong to do it the way I did. No sooner had he said it when it went flying to the top hahahaaaaa.
Make sure the needle is clean and hook them over the back of your line, great in windy weather. I set the bobbin about a third of the way from the top of the needle.

You can add extra bobbins for the weight.
No problem in the rain or sandy banks either.
And I've never had one jam up.

If anybody has had one jam up, then all I can say is they are not useing or looking after them properly.

On the road to rack & ruin !!!
i used to use a pair of cage type monkey climbers on my old fox pod....i think they were terry eustace/gold label ones???
i must say that i quite miss seeing them rise up the old needles....much more exciting than watching hangers.

I think that was my point Nick, I'm not saying they are the best out of the indicators, but they certainly make a nice change.
