Back when we started fishing Tring late 80s he used to turn up with a dog (Harvey) and he just got named 'Andy the Dog'.

Harvey was a border collie I had up until '89. He was a real character and almost everyone adored him. When I was fishing Tring he used visit the other anglers and get them to throw sticks for him. I tended to fish short over nighters arriving late and leaving early and the only reason people knew I'd been there was because they had seen the dog....

You were lucky you were allowed to take your dog Andy, I would love to take mine but most places won't allow it under threat of hanging. People cause more pollution in a month than a dog causes in a whole lifetime but they still rant and rave about them and I for one love my dogs company.
