Money talks, and it talks nowhere more than in Yankie land. Have these people never studied pike?
Those that are claiming to be losing money should sell tackle and tickets to fish for pike.

Actually they have a point. Pike are not indigenous to California. They are the same species as here - Esox lucius and their range is the northern states and Canada.

In the areas of North America where pike belong, they are regarded highly by anglers.

"Since then, the state has hooked, netted, trapped and shocked the fish. In 2003, biologists experimented with battling pike by blowing them up with underwater detonation cord."

How does that work then?

How do they target just Pike with the poison or do they just wipe out the lake totaly and re stock with trout and plants etc.

55,000 pike removed......how bigs the bloody lake.
Yes it does look as though the poison will kill all the fish then a total re-stocking would take place.
It looks like once again man is trying to get the better of nature, instead of letting nature sort itself out, allowing the lake to strike a healthy balance of predatory fish.

The pike they want to get rid of aren't native to the lake --or state ..
