Came across this rig on the CEMEX site with regard to a CArp Scholl on Blue Pool. It said Terry Hearn showed people how to tie the chod rig.

A Chod Rig is basically similar to a helicopter rig. Essentially used for fishing in silt.

Normally a short hooklength is semi-fixed in place with rubber beads and float stops outside of these so that it can be adjusted according to the depth of the silt.

A large ring swivel provides the rotary action. I believe it is better using a short stiff hooklength which as we know, provide excellent anit-eject properties.

This one, just keep the hooklength down to an inch or so. fish on a helicopter rig with the back stop at the distance from the lead that you think the silt/weed (the rmc'ism is "chod") is.

a bit like frank warwick was writing about 10 years ago, and the mere anglers were doing way before that!

The rig also appeared in Hutchie's "The Carp Strikes Back" published in the early 80's....
