The late Jack Hiltons book was one of the ones which really got me interested in carp fishing, along with Jim Gibbinsons first book, The Carp, Richard Walkers Library. Loved all the Maylin, Hutchy, Paisley books and Savay, expect you`ve read all those Cakey

hahahahahaha, I think you have a lot to learn about serious carp fishing Frothy, why back in the 60s we only had The Naturist and that was in black and white

Jack Hilton's book: "Quest for Carp" was probably the last ever written concerning "Old School" carp angling where discoveries were being made and the carp did not have names.

I too loved that book.

read jim gibbinsons "gravel pit carp" last week (just to remind me what a gravel pit is!)

excellent read, but a lot of the swims looked un-fishable - covered in grass, no gravel, no room for a bivvy - not even an electric hook up!! madness!
