My local angling society has recently acquired rights to fish this lake which (I think) held the Cheshire Bream record in the 70s (Graham Marsden you may know about this?) and wondered if anyone out there knows anything about the lake, stock levels etc. Being a ?Nantwich? lad I never knew this placed existed. Cheers for the replies.

Have a search for Phil Hacketts 'Natural History of the Cheshire Meres'.

Yes, I do know a little about the water as I'm on the committee of the club that have just taken it on, Wheelock AS. It held the bream record for a very short spell in the 70's with a fish of 11lb-odd. We're not sure of it's current bream potential but it is producing carp to around 20lb with rumours of bigger ones, tench over 7lb, pike to mid-doubles, some decent roach and perch topping 3lb.

Plenty of information on the website:

Thanks Graham,

Had a look on the site but just wanted to know from any sources about it before Wheelock had it.
