Very good, well done, join hands and give yourselves a pat on the back.

Now what about the imigrants being let off? what is being done about them?
Can any E.A. official answer this one?

I agree, do one do everyone, Is there an EA page we can all ask the question. If I went to france without checking the rules and fished without a permit would the gendarme let me off because i did'nt know.

This was the issue that Chub King was asking for help on about three weeks ago. For an A.T. article I think.

Most of us know that there are a number of E.A. officials who read this site.
Come on now, get to your bosses and ask them for an answer, and in return let us know the reasons for the recent let offs of non English people, (Note, I did not say anglers)
The problem will not go away, it will only get bigger. We all know it is happening and we want to know why.

Ed.
These people were actually caught by the police and E.A.
When it got to court it was decided that it wasn't a big enough offence to proseute them with, even though they had fish in their posession. They didn't have enough fish so it seems.

As I said we want to know why they are being given certain privilages over illegal English anglers who get prosecuted, while the imigrants get let off.

On the road to rack & ruin !!!
if they didnt know the rules and plead ignorance, are you telling me that they are that *ucking thick that they cant check with other anglers or a tackle shop as to what they are allowed to do???
just sheer bloody laziness and a total disregard for the law of the land!!!

The point of this thread is to try and force the E.A. into giveing us some answers.
I can well understand that temperes get flared over this issue, but we must be sure that we go down the right road, if we want to get any kind of an answer from the right quarters.

As far as I can see, it isn't the 'ignorance' of the law that is to blame.

It is for some kind of political reason or another.
But as I said in an earlier article, surely this is discrimination against illegal English anglers

On the road to rack & ruin !!!
why dont the powers that be from this website draw a up a letter addressing the issues you mentioned baz and then they can pass the letter on to the enviroment agency, backed up by e-mails from folk who post on this site.
why dont fishing websites pull together and combine their efforts???
i hear anglers calling for unity in our sport so the issues of the day can be addressed.....heres our chance!!!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the fines are TOO LOW! ?130 is absolutely pathetic for an average fine, ?1130 would be a better deterrent. The EA need to inform the courts that the fines they are handing out are not big enough, non licence payers need to be HAMMERED hard where it hurts, in their wallets.

Imigrants should just have all their kit confiscated, because they will always fish for food as that's what they do where they come from, but they should be fined as well.....

Good points Nick, this is a chance for The Angling Family to unite, everybody!

One Million anglers, surely the E.A couldn't ignore that!

Jon you are right it's pathetic!
Confiscate thier tackle, fine them and give them a free swimming lesson.

Nick,
you asked why don't the powers that be from this website draw a up a letter addressing the issues.

'Chub King' was asking for any information on this or any other issues like it, it was for an article to go in the Angling Times. If we can give him the information, he will get it published. That would be an excellent start.
