My Shakespeare Mach2 10ft wand comes with 2 carbon & 2 glass tips. Can anyone enlighten me as to what the difference will be between carbon & glass for a tip. I'm assuming they are the same weight tips, just different material

The carbon tips are a bit stiffer than the glass so when fishing with a tow on the water the tip doesn't bend round so far as a glass one would.

Yep all depends on the water, weather conditions and species your after. I've generally found it better to use the lightest (oz) tip I can get away with.

Usually the glass tips are rated heavier than the carbon ones for using heavier weights/feeders. The weight of the tips normally comes stamped on them. As previously said, the glass ones are softer in action.
