Wickford Angling ....

I braved the snow yesterday afternoon and popped over to Wickford Angling shop in Essex to pick up a few bits for a forthcoming piking session.

Was a bit suprised to see that the shop looks like it is now closed and the unit is up for sale.

From a quick look through the door all the shelves are empty and it looks like the place has been vacated.

Does anyone know what the score is with this ?

It would be a real shame if yet another long established tackle shop were to disappear.

Looks like their website is still up and running although its not been updated for a while.

If I remember rightly they closed down a couple of weeks ago, not sure if they went bust or not, will find out tomorrow.

Just been having a quick surf around the internet and it appears that it is true that Wickford Angling are no longer trading.

Fortunately there are still a good number of tackle shops quite close by (Angling Direct / Lathams Angling / Hook Line and Sinker / Gone Fishing etc) but its still a shame to lose yet another shop thats been around for a number of years.
