Daft rules

has anyone else joined a club with rules that seem a bit daft,here are some i have seen.

no known poacher may become a member of the club, i dont think a poacher would want to.

persons fishing may not have in their possession any domestic or WILD animal exept those used in fishing techniques.

no watercraft can be used without the permossion of the commitie

no "hairy" rigs

when water levels are low wellingtons must be worn

they are some of the daftest rules i ever seen,

must be the daftest committee

Some crazy rules around by crazy committee members, but they are the ones who chose to be involved, to which we should of course be greatful and if we don`t agree with the rules its up tp us to join these committes and try to educate these people, either that or accept them as law

no floating baits? never understood that one :wh

Banning boilies, why?

A lot of rules are purely poorly worded which gives a completely different twist to the rule. For instance,
"Only low oil content pellets may be used" which of course means no maggots, worms, corn etc.

Well the committee's may put the rules up to be voted on, but at the end of the day, it's the members that vote them in.

Here are a couple,

Match Anglers,

Anyone not at the Coach pick up point on time, will miss the coach, and still have to pay for the ticket.

I got the wording changed to, anyone missing the coach on match days will still have to pay for the ticket.

and

Members not doing a work party will not get their membership until the 1st July.

This would have been ok, but for the fact that the membership was done before any work party took place.

It got changed so you got a membership form after you did a work Party.

The use of hilti guns to erect bivvies on concrete banks is strictly forbidden

only one slapper at a time to be taking into your bivvy

no more than ten rods to be used at any one time

no illegal drugs to be taken on the water, (take them before you arrive)

Dont beat up and/or drown the local car thieves, phone the police instead

Phew!, I`m glad they didnt have rules on the Boggarts Clough
