Does anybody have this rod they seem cheap and might be the modern day eqivalent of my beloved but twice broken Shakepear carbon carp specailist 11'6 1.75lb .
I have a 1.75 warlord barbel rod by ron thompson that most people don't like but mine is great it's not the twin top one .
I want to replace my carbon carp rod but the nearest I am going to get is a barbel rod then I will cut off some of the cork so I can clamp it tight to my rod rests .
I would be using it mainly for carp up to around 8lb as thats what is in my local lake.
Is this rod any good.?

I might be wrong here but most of the mach1 tend to be a ticker blank than the mach2 or mach 3 and therefore abit heavy

BUT if it's going to be on the rests most of the time - then who cares

Don't about the rod but ESP do a grip designed for cork handled rods that grip a rod pretty tightly, might save you a job cutting cork off.
