Just an idea but???
With all this debate about there being better specimen fish in the south than in the north, could we have some kind of a county chart put on the forum?
County catches as and when they come in.

Any of the forum members could post the details of their specimen catch to Graham, just stating which county they caught it in.
Let?s say a bream of 14 lb was caught in Cheshire, then that would stay the top bream for that county until somebody beat it.

This could then be displayed on the forum and that would give everybody the chance for a little friendly competition and a chance to make a name for themselves if they so wished, for each county mentioned.

The idea is there, but it may need tidying up a little.

Top bananna hahahaaaaaaaa.
That's the idea Les, more anglers = more cards in me pocket (o
.........................................

Seriousely.
I don't know about the most amount of biggest fish for each county, that would be a lot of work for somebody.
I was thinking more on the lines of the best single fish of each species.
Otherwise there would be a list a mile long.

Good idea Baz.
Each county would have to have a stillwater and a river record though.

baz sort of what i meant, so for e.g norfolk has a 10lb tench kent has a 9lb tench etc so the county with the biggest tench 3 points 2nd biggest 2 3rd biggest 1!
then just do the same for each fish wouldnt be too hard would it?!

Thanks mate. But the main idea would be to not give too much/any information away. The County only, should be enough.
That way any angler would still have to do some homework himself, and not handed to him on a plate.

It does sound like a good idea, but how feasible it would be is up to people like Graham.
I don't know how much work would be involved in setting something of this nature up.

We would also have to depend on an anglers honesty. Maybe it could be called a rough guide.

Do you realise you are talking about a list of 720 fish

36 counties X 20 species of fish

No Ed I didn't, but I don't think it would actually work out as that many in reality.

If it eventually did, then surely it would be worth a page of its own.

I still think the idea is worth playing around with mate.

Once the database is set up its just a case of people sending in there catch report if it beats the current record. After the initial setting up should be no more than a hour a week.

The biggest problem would be the one of honesty as we all now ome anglers are prone to exagerations when it comes to the size of there catch.

Bryan ,what are you trying to say ?
That all F/M members are lying gits ,prone to exagerate ?
All right then ,we will exclude Ron & Baz and maybe D.B. and Ed ,Swordsy ,and Woody ,that Cakey bloke and ME .
Blimy that will take all the fun out of it. lol

Cheers Les, I just choked on me sausage sarnie;-) hehehe.

Top Banana Baz, I agree.

It's a great idea, you're right we could compare the national size of fish via counties.

Honesty well....
Every claim should be accompanied with a photo, not too hard I would imagine?

Bully, get your scales checked mate, they look to be well under...! hehehehe.

I didn't have a go at the barbel forum.
I was just trying to find out what would be acceptable.

How about a Fishing Magic members record list along similar lines?
