I would welcome suggestions for a good quality and good value rod for spinning with light lures for Perch and small Pike

Shimano Exage multi-piece spinning rod. Get the lightest of the three that can work as a 7 or an 8 foot rod. They were about ?50 when I bought a pair a couple of years ago.

I've got a little Shakespeare Onset 8 or 9ft rod, chucks spinners and Big S- sized lures a treat teamed up with a small Shakespeare fixed spool and 30lbs braid.

I won a Shimano beastmaster spinning rod and it really is a joy to use.

Francophil,if you live near to a decathlon store they have a range called 4x4 set 210 which is a 7ft light sinning rod and reel to match the rod (a nice rebadged okuma open faced reel) & theres a medium action rod a 4x4 270 and a heavier 4x4 330 rod they come in a gray and red bag with black mesh and are usually hanging up and range from ?18.95 to ?35 decathlon also do other spining rods usually in racks down the isle but these look cheap and nasty in comparison.
