Rods for tench/bream/carp

I have posted a few questions on here and always got very sound advice so I have another!
What rods do people recommend if I mainly fish for tench/bream and the occasional carp - I usually use the method or swim feeders. I currently use Daiwa Specialist Graphite carp rods of 2 1/4 test curve and also use these rods for piking in the winter. I plan to get 2 Okuma Interceptor Bait Feeders to use with the new rods and obviously do not want to spend a fortune - advice please!

Nash Specialist Elite - 1.75 tc barbel rods (approx ?80 each) or Greys prodigy - 1.75 tc (approx ?90)

These are what I use for Tench / Bream method fishing and have caught a few carp by accident and can't remember ever losing one.

You won't go far wrong with either of these mate.

I don't want to spend too much as I am more than likely to damage my stuff at some point and I don't really get to go enough at the moment to warrant spending a fortune! I do, however, want to get something that is likely to last and also be up to the task.
Cheers to all for the input so far.

Garry,

I have other, more expensive rods but for price v quality you won't go far wrong with a 1.75 tc Nash elite barbel rod.

I bought a couple in 2lb tc for myself just to use when the rivers are in flood or for fishing really tight 'sang' swims.

Gary,

Thanks again - Do you think that the 1.75lb tc would be adequate for what I want to do, mostly tench and bream at short to Mid range? Or would I be sensible to go for the 2lb tc -= I guess some of the swims I fish are fairly snaggy. Having to use the rods for multi purpose is the problem I guess - would the 2lb tc be up for piking? (I guess I could use my current carp rods for that)
It is so good to be able to get advice first hand as it were!
Cheers again.
Garry

Hi gary,
Have just read your article on the 2lb tc - and I think it answered most of my questions. I wonder if I need the 2lb and that the 1.75 might be enough. I do tend to fish fairly light (although sometime use a small method feeder) - what would you recommend and where is the best place to look for prices?
Cheers.

Hi All,

I know that this is resurrecting an old thread but i never got around to buying these rods and wondered if anyone knew where I can get a pair of Nash Barbel Elite 1.75's at a reasonable price?
Climax tackle were selling them at ?40 each believe it or not but have sold out! How annoying!
Any ideas?
Many thanks.
Garry.
