quiver tip weights

Can anyone help me out with this, as I am somewhat confused by the weights quoted for qiver tips ie 2oz is this the test curve or the recommended casting weight or am i barking up the wrong tree.

A 2oz tip basically has a 2oz test curve but you can cast much more than that weight. The recommended casting weight will be on the main blank of the rod. Oviously the lighter the test curve of the tip then the more sensetive to bites it will be.
