Cat it says fenland river carp, so I took that to mean it was from a fenland river/drain.

Malc, I took the referance to wild as meaning, living in the fens and not fished for, hardly, if ever caught. not that it was a wildie.

Definitely a wild [as in not a wildie] common carp, probably never seen a hook before or since.
Several days baiting up and extracting mega bream before getting the carp.
The only one of that season. They ain't easy!!
