seen these rods advertised half price in an ad and wondered what they are like. Thought about using them on the Ribble for chub and in the close season for tench on a local stillwater.

I've got the Avon Duo which is the previous rod and it's a good rod. Matches 6lb t0 8lb line Hook lengths down to around 3lb on the quiver top. Excellent chub rod, fine for close in tench fishing, hasn't really got the grunt to cast anything more than a medium feeder on still waters. My only moan is that the quivers are too light for river fishing. The heaviest is 2oz and it could really do with a 3oz tip for rivers. I'm currently investigating whether I can get a 3oz tip for reasonable money.

I thought the same about the tips too, but being the price they are and having the fox floodwaters already and rating them highly, im going to part with my cash. Cheers sean.
